Convenient Take-Home Ultradent Opalescence Whitening Trays

Our Omaha dental practice provides two options for teeth whitening:

  • Trays customized to your teeth by our dentists
  • Pre-filled trays that mold to fit your teeth once placed

Our dentists can tell you more about the benefits of each. We’ll help you choose the option that fits your expectations, goals and budget.

Depending on the concentration of hydrogen peroxide, you’ll wear the trays either for 30-60 minutes or 10-15 minutes, once per day. Most people need to wear the trays for 10 days to get the best results, but our dentists will let you know the exact timeline for you.

Common Causes of Tooth Discoloration

Ultradent Opalescence fights tough stains to brighten your smile. Just about everyone develops yellowing or discoloration of teeth enamel at some point in their lives. These stains are caused by a wide variety of factors, including:

  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Wine
  • Soda
  • Sports drinks
  • Tomato sauce
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Curry sauce
  • Berries
  • Beets

You could reduce your consumption of these items to prevent stains. There are also other steps you can take: After enjoying one of the staining beverages or foods, rinse your mouth out with water. You may also want to consider a straw for soda and sports drinks. The straw will keep some of the liquid off of the front surface of your teeth.

Practicing great dental hygiene is another way to fight yellowed teeth. It’s true brushing cannot whiten your teeth the way the whitening gel does. But failing to brush and floss correctly can lead to stains that are worse than they would be otherwise. Your hygiene routine includes brushing your teeth 2-3 times a day – for two minutes each time – and flossing once daily. Routine cleanings at the dentist will also help fight stains.

What Makes our Teeth-Whitening Better Than Those in the Store?

It may be tempting to simply buy an in-store whitening product the next time you go shopping. But, as with just about everything in life, you get what you pay for. Those drugstore products can never match the results available with professional whitening because of the following:

  • The over-the-counter gel is many times weaker than what is available from a dental professional
  • Treatment takes much longer for not as strong of a result
  • Over-the-counter trays aren’t customized for your unique teeth
  • Over-the-counter whiteners can cause sensitivity because they aren’t customized to fit your teeth

Let our experienced team help you decide if teeth whitening can create the beautiful smile you want.
